One Year After

Its been over a year now....The last post was me talking anxiously about waiting for Baby K's arrival. Baby K or Khadra, is now almost 14 months old. Tiny, pint-sized Khadra can walk, talk, run, climb, scream, cry and possibly can do anything a 2 year-old can. That's my girl, fiesty as ever. She can never sit still, not even for a second.

So a lot has happened since June July 2011...Let me start with :

Ramadhan 2011: July - August 2011

Ramadhan began, I was eager to fast as many days as I could because I know I would give birth in the mid month of Ramadhan. I couldn't bear the thought if having to replace 30 days of fasting while taking care of 2 kids, work and breastfeeding.....urggghh. Alhamdulillah I managed to fast up till the 14th of August which was 15 days full. I started having onsets of contractions the evening on 14th Aug.....it was painful, irritating and of course it came n went......

After buka at about 9ish or so, i started having shows of blood....but despite that I managed to sleep quite well that night. Woke up at 5am with painful contractions...i went down had sahur and finished my air selusuh that Wan prepared for me...(that wud be the last air selusuh she ever made for anyone - Al-Fatihah to my beloved Grandmother). Mum said i looked pale, told her i was in pain but if i didnt fast and didnt give birth, that would be a waste....so right after prayers, hubby said "Come, let's go to the hospital", i said "nanti dulu la, so early...we go bila time you nak gi kerja k". But truth was I was struggling with back aches due to the contractions....and strangely enough, I didnt think it was TIME.

So 9am, we made our way to the hospital and in the car i was timing my contractions...they were pretty close apart...consistently painful of course. Upon arrival the concierge at Price Court Medical Centre offerred me wheel chair to which I said "oh it's ok, Im only here to check and do my CTG Scan" hahahahaha, or so I THOUGHT.

Dr Seri Suniza, my beloved gynae...she's just so awesome I will need one post just to talk about her and Prince Court. LOL....so anyways...she checked me and to my surprise, "Oh girl, you're already 5cm dilated". Hubby looked at me "5cm??? Kenapa u mcm tak sakit?!" "Tak sakit?! you gila ke apa??? Sakit la ni tapi i tahan" but when the contractions were not present I could happily enjoy social networking....

About 90 minutes after that, we welcomed Sharifah Khadra Alhabshi, just before noon. She was 2.8kgs and 51cm tall. Alhamdulillah I delivered her normally, with slight tearing. I could breastfeed her immediately.

15th Dec, marked my last day in CIMB Marcomms after having served the company for 4 years. I have learned tremendously about corporate events, logistics managements and communications. I will cherish my time there...for all the good friends that I made throughout my tenure there. And of course learn my lesson about high powered bitches and their backstabbing crew. Hahahahah

January 2012

I am now in the Securities Commission Malaysia under SIDC, I'm working in the operations & event management team, and also working 'part-time' helping with the Annual Report and the Investor Education dept. The work is different, culture is different but Im enjoying myself....and I now have more time with my family. Alhamdulillah for all Allah's blessings.

February 2012

My Wan passed away peacefully on 22 February 2012 at about 1am in the morning with all her children, most of her cucu's and some cicits surrounding her. It was such a peaceful death that nobody even noticed her taking her last breath. Al-Fatihah, may Allah place her amongst the pious ones. I miss her so much...everyday. Lana harap Wan tenang di sana....Lana sentiasa doakan Wan. Even now, writing this...im slowly tearing up. But Im sure she is happy....insyaallah. Wan died perhaps of old age...prior to that, she had a fall in September and had to undergo two surgeries, one for the fractured hip bone and the other one was for a growth on her right shoulder....after the 2 surgeries she simply lost her will to eat and live...we all took care of her as much as possible to make her feel comfy...but alas..Allah had far better plans for her. Kami redha....sesungguhnya setiap yg hidup pasti akan menemui mati....

You will always be in my heart..I hope we will meet again, insyaallah

May 2012

We hosted Kasheif' 3rd Wild Wild West Party at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club and my kids n friends had a jolly good time. We had a CACTUS cake, wild wild west cookies, an array of food plus ice cold rootbeers, some fun and games. and a horse PINATA! Kasheif and his friends enjoyed ponny and horse carriage rides....it sure was tiring but well worth the effort.

June 2012

This was definitely the highlight to our year as a family. We decided to join the adventure of the Alhabshi's to go and see Aziah's graduation in Olomouc (2hours outside Prague, Czech Republic). So we went on our journey 19 June - KL to Doha, Doha to Vienna. Followed by Olomouc, Prague, Budapest, Milan, Florence and Rome

August 2012

We celebrated eid in KB this year and then 2nd week of Raya we had Khadra's 1st Bday Party, themed Strawberry Shortcake. Khadra wore a TUTU...she looked like a lil masyam ballerina. kekekekek. She was already walking then. She dapat kaki exactly on the 15 Aug 2012 on her 1st bday.

The Mahbob clan added another family member Nur Ariana...My sister, Myra's 5th child. She's so bambam now, gained more than 1 kg before her 1st month. Mama wanna bite you everyday.... May you grow to become anak yang solehah. Amin

So that's about it....I think I should really spend some time to write every now and then.....just for my own record and enterainment....This day and age, everything just moves so fast. So I gotta just make time.

With 6 weeks to go, puasa and raya coming up

I sorta freaked myself out smlm, when I realized I've about one and a half months to go before the arrival of Baby K (insyaallah)....about 1 month before Ramadhan (much to my dismay, I wont be able to fast the full 30 days this year) ....and 2 months to go before Raya. With everything that is soon to happen, I doubt that I'll have the luxury to do my Raya shopping. So far baju raya for abang K, baby K are sorted but baju melayu, baju kurung and kasut abang K belum lagi....takyahla ckp pasal mine and ariff..nak tailor-make surely no time dah. So I need to buy off rack, readymade for us. Mine has to be nursing friendly so no jubah2 this time...macamana nak selak2 plak nanti right.

At this point of time, Im already thinking of pantang, pasar Ramadhan, and mostly how will I be as a mother of 2

Pantang: no images of yucky blant food coz beloved mama will be cooking awesome stuff as per last confinement....its more of time urut...aahhh bestnya..and I will get it alternate days sbb my aunty's bibik mmg tukang jaga org pregnant and bersalin masa dia kat kampung...so I hired her to be my confinement nanny. And oohhh, this time I get 90 days off work too! That's gotta be awesome kan.

Ramadhan Bazaars never fail to tantalize my "puasa cravings". It is only during Ramadhan I eat murtabak, roti john and other food that I dont normally eat during other months...ntah kenapa ntah...time2 Ramadhan je nak suma ni.....now when I think of it pun dah mcm....yum yumsss...Although sometimes, it aint so much about the food, but rather the atmosphere - ppl berpusu2 dlm pasar tu. Masing2 nak cari juadah berbuka....the ambience and paling classic, nanti bila sampai rumah rambut bau asap! In my case, tudung suma bau mcm I bakar sate the whole day....eheheh. But itula yg I suka, and itula yg best.

Me as a mum of 2....I guess, there's not much to tell until the day arrives...especially after maternity leave ends, when I get back to my routine; work as usual. Then we shall see how well or how bad I cope. One thing I observe from other mummy friends who have more than one is - and this is the best; they maintain a healthy weight and figure and some lose weight sebab hectic and letih jaga the kids. YANG TU SGT BEST!!! So Im hoping I'll also be one of them yg dapat lose weight sbb penat jaga anak2...eheheheh

7 weeks to go

I've about 50 days to go before I greet the birth on my 2nd child INSYAALLAH. And yes, Im a nervous-wreck. Although this wont be my 1st birthing experience, but being c-sected the 1st time leaves me with no kind of expectations whatsoever on what to to face when THE day finally arrives.

My nesting mode started about 2 weeks ago when I rushed hubs to re-arrange our bedroom so that the crib is next to the bed, to make room for baby K to sleep next to mama. Abang Kasheif has taken over the middle spot on the main bed permanently so it looks like baby K kena tido dlm cot.

Last weekend, my sis, mum and hubs joined me for an evening of baby shopping at KLCC, and what a coincidence that Mothercare was on mega SALE. Heheheh :p, so i bought beddings stuff and some were really on great discounts (members get additional 10%) which was awesome. Ariff said, not neccesary to have everything in pink, so we decided to go with orangey yellow for baby K's cot.

Since about 6 weeks ago, I've started to buy baby K's clothes, mitten, booties etc bit by bit...and I asked bibik to help wash all the clothes, her secure sleeper's sheet, the car seat, mosquito net and when they were all done, I realized I've already bought a baby box full of clothes for her....byk giler...when did I DO this??? So until baby is born, no more clothes shopping for her...I've even bought her raya outfit, shoes and also her dress for aqiqah (INSYAALLAH - I hope baby K comes out healthy and sempurna Ya Allah)
Then my aunty Lang made a comment "Sure ke girl? Sume colours mcm girlish...skali keluar birdie" I was like "Takpela, if mcm tu, pakai je sume baju ni except of course the skirts and dresses takleh la kan"

Honestly, I dont mind either sex....I just doa and pray that baby K comes out a healthy baby, sihat and cukup sifat....Insyaallah...But of course, I will accept apa2 je yg Allah anugerahkan...semua tu rezeki....tak kira la kan camana pun.

So here I am, anxiously waiting...although 7 weeks to go....hospital bag belum pack lagi.....God forbid i leave my Cell Safe kit for baby K's cord blood collection (tolongla INGAT!) but I HAVE downloaded 2 applications on my berry to monitor baby's kick and to track contraction timing...ehehehe. and finally I do hope to go for a succesful VBAC So peeps, wish me LUCK, insyaallah :)

What have i been up to since 2008

January 2008 - Ariff and I got engaged

June 2008 - I turned 28 and my gfs celebrated my 'SURPRISE' Bday Bash at Delicious Marc's Residence

Aug 2008 - Ariff and I got hitched...we had 3 lovely ceremonies. At home for the akad nikah, at Dewan Perdana Felda for 1st reception and and Arabic themed style wedding at Ariff's parents' house in TTDI

Aug 2008 - A day after the 2nd reception, we flew off to GoldCOAST Australia for a one week honeymoon and it was just pure bliss.

And about 6 weeks after that....tadaaaaa

About 9 months after that, on May 25th 2009 - We welcomed, Syed Kasheif Alhabshi. He was 3.45kgs and 50cm tall....our first born. I gave birth to him at Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital at about 1pm. (I ALSO gained 30kgs, thanks to eating loads of rice throughout the pregnancy period - and I only lost 24kgs before I got pregnant with my 2nd child)

In between I had a miscarriage in Aug 2010, which was very unfortunate... :(

In May 2010, Kasheif and twin cousin Imran had their 1st Bday Bash - Sesame Street Style

Then in September to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary (oh well, Kasheif tagged along) hehehe, we went for a shopping spress in Bandung for 4 days...it was lovely :) clothes, food....nice nice..

We didnt do much coz I was bz with work Oct-Nov....then found out I was preggy.....morning sickness was a bitch for 16 weeks.....then in March

There was the PERTH TRIP!!! Wheeehhhooooo (Kasheif was already on loads plane rides before he was 2. Anak mama nak jadi jet-setter ke? heh :p - bukan la gi mana put, balik KB, pergi Langkawi, Bandung, Perth...tu je (mama perasan plis)

Now, its June...I just turned 31...baby is coming INSYAALLAH in 8 weeks time...Until we meet again in my next post :D
